DESCRIPTION:Tuesday nights are for riding! Come join in the FUN! \n3 different paced based groups to choose from routes change weekly. Check Bike Surgeon Strava Club to get the route: \nA Group – Average speed 22 mph \nB Group – Average speed 17 – 19 mph \nC Group – Average Speed 14 -16 mph \nAn annual ride waiver is required; if this your first time plan to arrive a few minutes early and check in with any staff member to complete the waiver and get your 2024 waiver sticker. \nAfter the ride\, stop in the shop and enjoy some eats and drinks.   OR…For the triathletes among us\, (or perhaps folks who are just a bit tri-curious)\, there will be the option to go for a relaxed 5k run after the Tuesday night rides. The run will be somewhere around a 10:30ish pace and will leave from the parking lot no more than 5 minutes after the B group returns. SUMMARY:Eclipse Ride 2024
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. \n  \nOn April 8th\, we will have the last opportunity of our lifetime to see a full solar eclipse anywhere near the St. Louis area\, but we will have to ride to get there!  Join for a fun ride into the closest point to the shop in the zone of totality…..beautiful Fayetteville\, Illinois!  This B-/C+ paced 23-mile ride (one-way) will depart Bike Surgeon at 11:30AM and meander through the countryside to the lovely hamlet of Fayetteville with an ETA of 1PM\, just as the action starts (totality is 1:58PM). \nWe have secured riverside accommodations for our eclipse watch party on the picturesque southern outskirts of Fayetteville\, aka Jo’s compound. AND we have talked Chef Talani from Le Ono into fixing the lunch for us! The $35 registration fee will cover the ride\, food\, drinks\, and eclipse glasses for all. \nIf the ride there and festivities have you wiped out\, van transportation back to the shop will be available. For those looking to ride back to the shop\, a slightly longer route will be taken to give us a total mileage for the day of 64 miles (a metric century). We promise to have you home before dark. \nDon’t miss out on this super fun event! Enjoy a fun FREE supported ride on our awesome local bike trails with our first ever Lollipop Ride!\nJoin us for this fun bike trail ride from downtown O’Fallon\, Illinois onto the amazing MCT Trail Network with ride distances for all. The five routes range from a family-friendly 2 mile short lollipop to the longest route of the day at 44 miles with awesome stocked rest stations throughout the routes. SAG support will be available for all riders through 1PM that day.\n\n.\nThis will be a fun/family/trail rider focused event\, leaving from Bike Surgeon and proceeding to the bike trail\, heading north on Illini Trail with the longer routes continuing north on the MCT Trail Network. We will have volunteers at all major intersections helping you make your way safely to and back from the trail.\n\n.\nRide check in will open at 8AM at the tent in front of Bike Surgeon and will be open until 9:30AM. All riders must check in\, complete a rider waiver\, and can pick up the map of their chosen distance. Riders can start their ride at any time between 8 and 9:30AM. Ride volunteers are on site to help keep riders safe\, please pay attention to their directions. We will be riding on open roads and open trails with other users\, so please follow all rules of the road and trail etiquette guidelines. Helmets are required to be worn by all participants for the duration of their ride.\n\n.\nThe ride will finish at Bike Surgeon in the heart of the DownTown District\, where lunch and refreshments will be available for purchase at the many downtown restaurants and bars including: Gears @ Bike Surgeon\, Shooter’s BBQ\, 1st Street Lounge\, Boarding House Bistro\, Peel Brewing\, and Gia’s Pizza. Bring friends\, bring the family\, enjoy a great ride on our local trails and celebrate National Trail Day with us!
